In celebration of the Chinese New Year, we've thought of celebrating it in our own little way here in the office. We may not have the lavish dragon dance, smell the burnt incense sticks, giving out red envelopes, lighting Chinese lanterns, eating on a buffet table of Chinese dishes and a group of Chinese folks.. but we're sure to participate in this colorful and wonderful event.
My boss and I talked of what could we possibly do to let the people on the floor feel that it's Chinese New Year and that we are celebrating it.. We've thought of giving them Chinese food and items. I've thought of giving out hopia and lucky cellphone charms. So I counted the total number of heads and allocated the expenses.
Then we headed to Ongpin. Binondo, Manila. Chinatown.
I've always dreamed of going to this place. Want to see not only the Chinese folks and their merchandise but how they live in this little community. You can sense the deep concern of each (Chinese people) towards one another. They will protect one another no matter what. They are very diligent and responsible. Just some few reasons why they continually succeed on their endeavors.
For now, just want to give you some highlights on how they prepare for this big celebration. It's only a day before the big day. What more could we expect to see and feel once the big day comes..?? If only I could be there to witness it..
