Sama ka sa Panagsama

Go and wander Panagsama beach in Moalboal. Fine white sand. Crystal clear waters. But hey, where is Moalboal located? Moalboal is one of the southern municipality in the province of Cebu. It's a 2-hour bus drive from the city.

So, how'd we get there? What drove us to travel all the way downsouth? Aside from it's being a famous diving spot, Moalboal houses beautiful beaches. The drive going there  almost filled the excitement I was feeling. Again, Mother Nature showing it's finest.

The cool about this trip was that we didn't exactly know where to stay and who to contact to. We just worked it on ourselves. Did a little research. Asked the locals.

So, we hailed this tricycle which eventually became our official service. Manong driver was totally friendly and accommodating. He helped us look for a place to stay, even toured us from the Orchidarium up to Kawasan Falls. And what's funny though, he asked for our facebook id's, but the sorry manong driver didn't get a single info on my fb.

Good thing, my travel buddy was about to meet a fellow blogger, like himself, and told us where he's staying. Not too pricey but not cheap as well, we rented the room for an overnight stay.

Then we had a little chat with a newfound friend. Ate an expensive yet delish beef dish. Then set our feet off the sands of Panagsama. Took some, i mean, lots of pictures. Bodies half-dipped on clear waters.

We pretty much enjoyed the waters of Moalboal and it's serene view. Someone can really find peace here. Since it's a small municipality, no one will dare disturb your silence. To each his own.

Our stay did not only satisfy our hunger for food and for rest but the hunger for personal space and time. That only this place can wondrously offer.

Fort San Pedro

I never knew there are also forts existing in some parts of the country. Geez! The only forts I knew were Fort Santiago and Fort Bonifacio.

When I went to Cebu (March 2011), visiting Fort San Pedro was on my list. But since we've spent most of our vacay in Bohol, we didn't get the chance to visit it. Plus, we hardly know how to get there! Now I know that it's very near the provincial capitol. Or near the port.

Fort San Pedro is no different with the other forts here in Manila. Stone walls, canyons, dungeons and bars. But it's tiny as compared to Fort Santiago. Baby fort?!? hehe..

And usually, forts were built to serve as a military defence structure. Maybe tons of guns, ammos and even canyons were stored here. It might also housed the high-ranking Spaniards. Or served as the seat of government back then.

The fort today serve as a park/museum to the Cebuanos. It houses a museum of paintings and artifacts. From torn dresses of Spaniards to paintings of the people and their way of living back then.

Smallest as compared to other forts but still holds history that made and shaped us Filipinos.

Unfortunately, I can't give you the how-to-go-there instruction, should you want to pay visit to the fort. I must admit, I took  the cab. But I'm pretty much  sure almost all Cebuanos know this place.

Sapul!

Just want to share what I've just heard on the radio while I am on my way home a few hours ago.. Manong driver's tuned in to 96.3 Easy Rock. And I love this radio station. Old, classic songs! Brings back the old memories..

Anyways, the DJ at that time was Andre Jordan. Nice voice. He's quite frank. Tamaan na talaga ang dapat tamaan sa mga advices nya. (Recently, I find DJ's doing the mala-Charo Santos-kind-of-work.. Advice dito, advice doon.. Minsan totoo, minsan corny, minsan walang kwenta - just for fun lang ba! Pero we still listen.. religiously! - Pinoy nga naman.. )

So I was just listening to the songs being played. Medyo reminisce ng konti. Then Andre went on air na. And I really (as in really!) like what he'd just said:

Sometimes the ones we dismiss so easily are the ones who will stay to weather the storm for us..

Shoot! Sapul! He's not even pointing fingers to anyone pero it's obvious naman na super dami ang natamaan! To cite an example, you're not in the mood. An officemate approaches you, asks how you're feeling today, and you simply said "I'm okay".. even if you're not. You'll never know what advice can your officemate give you the moment you let him know you're condition. Another one. You're heartbroken. Manong Janitor notices it, asks you kung okay ka lang. You simply shrug. What if Manong Janitor, kahit simpleng janitor lang sya, has lots to say when it comes to matters of the heart? What if he's been through the same situation you're into now? Last one. Our parents. Once we've turned into grown ups, feeling natin we know everything. We no longer consult them for guidance. And even if they offer help, we ignore them. Wala naman sila alam. Di nila alam ang pinagdaraanan natin. But at the end of the day, who do we turn to? Still, sila pa rin, our parents. They may never know the in's and out's of everything (like fashion, technology, trends) but unlike these stuff, they never fade. Never will..

We tend to listen to the ones we like.  Tama? Ta-maaa...

We tend to ignore the ones we don't like. And most often than not, the ones we always ignore has the most to say. The ones we always avoid are the ones whose likely to stay, whether we like it or not. So ironic noh?

The moral here is to learn to appreciate whatever anyone has to say, whoever they are, regardless of their status and situation in life. We're so picky. Sa sobrang picky, wala ng natitira, naubusan na pala tayo. Pero the ones that you left behind, kahit ano pa ang gawin mo, saan mang sulok ng mundo ka magpunta, will always be there.. to stay.. to weather the storm for you.. to carry your burdens.. to love you unconditionally..

Happy Trip

Happy.

I am happy.
I am happy blogging.

I am happy blogging my life experiences.

Happy thoughts. That's what I want to achieve everyday. No more room for loneliness and sadness. I want everyone happy. I want a happy environment. Who wouldn't want to be happy? No one, i guess..

That's my mantra (as I call it) for this year. To keep and maintain myself happy.. If not all the time, atleast most of the time.

I am starting to erase negative thoughts, putting pressures and bearing grudges on others. It is not healthy. And it is not doing me anything good. It will just put lots of lines on my face, more time to frown and become hot headed.

Much as possible, I won't do it intentionally, it's like I'm cheating directly on my face. I don't even have any audience but myself. So might as well be true to myself. I will just let myself be happy. Feel the happiness. Be it at work, home, with my family or friends.

Happiness could be a tangible thing or intangible. A smile on a friend's face or a hi-tech gadget: Your choice.  As long as it's clearly enough to make you happy.

I have nothing in particular to say but be happy. Nothing and noone to pinpoint as to what makes me happy. Just pure random thoughts. It's what I'm feeling right now. Might as well share it with you. Hope you get infected with my happy virus.. Ahaha.. Be happy peeps.
